| Hey everybody! Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Frank, and I'm from Baltimore, Md. I learned about this awesome club from Brian. I met him online at the 1320X website. I have a 69 Chevelle race/street car. I'll post up a pick as soon as I can. I bought the car pretty much turn key, but the motor was worn out and it needed some updating. The car has been a race car since about 1981. I have met all but 2 owners of the car. The original owner, and guy that sold it to the guy that I bought it from. It is NOT an original SS, although I just added SS emblems to it. I've always wanted an original, but at todays prices, this is as close as I'll ever get. I would never pretend that its an actual SS, more a tribute. The car has been a smallblock car its entire life, accept for a one week period I was told it had a 468 and "didn't like it". The car originally came with a 300hp 350 with a M-22 four speed and a 12 boltt posi. The original rear is still in the car, although it has been narrowed and now has a full spool with billet caps. All of the back half work is custom hand done. The car was backhalved in 1983 when prefabbed parts didn't exist. The vehicle's appearance is a bit if a hybrid. It has '68 front and back bumpers and '70 rear quarters. The '69 bumpers and fenders were unavailable in fiberglass when the car was built in the early 80s. Many people don't notice that rear fenders don't have lips like the '69 and they are also hand stretched to fit the bigger tires. The car currently has a nitrous assisted 383 sbc that is capable of going well into the 9's with the right gear(which I don't have yet!) That's where my screen name comes from. I currently only have a 100 shot on it. The car was a well known in my area back in the 80s and early 90s. It has won at Maple Grove in the mid 80s ans went as fast as 9.72 in 1985 witha iron headed 355 stock eliminator tyoe engine ( the car was lighter then). I put an original style interior back in the front (dfoorpanels, dash, headliner, etc.) When I got my lerners permit at 15, I picked up my first ever car magazine. It was called Muscle Car Review. The featured car was 1969 COPO 427 Chevelle, mint green with a black vinyl top. That is my car's original paint scheme incidentally. I was hooked from that moment on and 69 COPO Chevelle was always my dream car. Two years ago, at the age of 39 1/2, after working three jobs to save the money, I fullfilled that dream, as close I could get anyway! The car is now painted Admiral Blue with a single wide Arctic White stripe down the cnter and the bumpers are painted to match. If that sounds familiar, its the 1996 Grand Sport Corvette paint scheme. Well, thanks for letting me ramble and I look forward to meeting many of you. Anybody going to Cruisin' O.C., MD in May? | |

| Welcome Frank!! Glad to see you finally made it out here!! I know as the weather gets better, the board will see much more traffic. Hope you'll be able to take the drive up for one of our events this year!!
As for OC, MD-I do know a few guys who are going down. Personally, I cannot, but one of these days, I will make it down. Brian | |
